How do we raise funds?

The Foundation raises its dollars in many ways. A large volunteer base runs a variety of special events each year. The Foundation is fortunate in having a base of loyal supporters. The Foundation’s greatest support is from Paramount Canada’s Wonderland. The Children’s Aid Foundation does not receive United Way funding. We rely solely on donations from individuals, corporations and other foundations. Concerned individuals, school and church groups, service and employee associations are all dedicated donors and volunteers.

What makes the Foundation different from the other children’s charities?

The Children’s Aid Foundation of York Region is unique because we not only raise funds, we also allocate all the money raised and support specific child abuse prevention programs. In addition, as administrative expenses are covered separately, 100% of donations are directed to underprivileged, neglected and abused children.

What types of programs does the Foundation fund?

The mission of the Children’s Aid Foundation of York Region is to improve the lives of abused and neglected children and their families in York Region.
